Eve and her minions

OOOPPPS.....This post is gone....

Back for the first time

This week I have my fingers crossed. It's a cross I hope will bring some luck for one of my favorite show on T.V this season. The Boondocks...... after the first installment of the first 15 episodes, I'm hoping and praying that Adult Swim and Cartoon Network will grant the Boondocks that returning status.
Since it started airing, not that many people have tuned into or cared about what the Boondocks is, it's funny that when I sometimes ask somepeople if they've ever seen the Boondocks and they reply, "Oh yeah man, Boondocks Saints...I've seen that movie...it's sooo awesome", whatever. More than any show show...cartoon or real life, the boondocks has addressed real issues and remained funny as hell at the same time.
I don't really take to that many cartoons like I've taken to the Boondocks, in fact the only real cartoon I've liked more than anything is the somewhat twisted REN and STIMPY.

SImply put it

The Long Road Home

Claude, Naim and Dave from left to right

A week ago or last Friday to be more specific we begin our jounney from Mankato to anywhere in California, we were hell bent on having some fun and leaving a trail while doing it.
We drove for approiximately 32 hours before arriving in the mountains of California where I think the word "Traffic Jam" might have been invented. The traffic over there is no joke. At a rate of 20 feet every minute, its no wonder more than a few crazed people inhabit that State.

our first stop was in San Diego where our hotel just happened to be overlook a police standoff as we were checking in, very exciting. Our hotel was three miles away from the border with Tijuana and was much as we were tempted to just walk or drive into Tijuana, we refrained because we didn't have enough money.

The next morning we hit the beach and did so hard, we met a few people from Arizona, Texas and a group of girls from Brazil.....Brazil must have a supermodel breeding program because all these girls were so beautiful but the Ukrainain chicks on the other hand were not on par. We stayed a few days in San Diego and then moved onto L.A next where the six lane high way that moved more like the lunch line at a packed cafeteria almost drove Dave insane.

We visited a few more cities including Bakersfield, Alahambra, Hollywood, Burbanks, Sacramento, San Francisco + a few I might have forgotten.
In my view San Fracisco was the worst with too many homeless, rude, hecklers, snobby people who thought they were too good since they lived in a urine smelling, pigeon shit infested ruin.

All in all my trip was great and I wish to write more in detail about it someday...very indetail...

The Narcissist

Years...months...weeks...days..hours...minutes...and seconds have gone by since the last time i thought that I was a bit too into myself. In other words...I have discovered myself to be a narcissist. It has taken a bit of self exploration and realization to come to this conclusion.
I'm not someone who spends a good slice of their waking life standing in front of the mirror admiring themselves or talks a great deal about what they have or have not acheived for that matter.

I am a narcissist because I have realized that when it comes to simple matters, i'd rather not bother with what other people feel....it's all about my problems; but whos to judge?

Like Margaret Thatcher once said "There is no Society, there are just individuals and families and groups", I've often thought "If I am not selfish in my thoughts about my own wellbeing, who will be". I have realized that it seems very selfish and almost childlike but so are many other things that so many other people do.

IN OTHER NEWS

Yesterday my roomate mason told me that a kid had just died in Crawford, thing is that he had died on one of the floors I had lived on, A-2. I felt sad for him and his parents, this morning I went and facebook and searched for his name which was Eric Suurmeyer ; you might need a facebook account to see his profile. All that can be done is to pray for his family as they go through their period of grief. RIP ERIC

A very desperate entreprenuer has come up with a way they think they might make money, based on the popular DVD series GIRLS GONE WILD, the have created a spin off version entitled, ( yes you guessed it people) Guys Gone Wild where they go around and tape meatheads and semi-homosexual dudes "getting down" for the ladies. Now it's never right to frown on a business idea but this one just doesnt seem right. All in all what voice do I have...their dissappointing sales might speak for themselves, except in the markets of San Francisco.

The good and the ugly

It has been a bag of mixed blessing and falls since I have been without cable for the last five months or so. I've come to miss many of my most anticipated shows like The Boondocks, Dirty jobs with Mike Rowe and a host of other shows.
One reason I'm happy to have been without cable is the absence of B.E.T in my psyche for a very long time. Since then I've felt free from the debilitating programming schedule of that channel, where sunday morning sermons with the black hustler preacher go hand in hand with almost hard core porn late night videos of "UNCUT".
Like Aaron McGruder best said it...one of the worst thing black people can do to themselves is to eat "SOUL FOOD" and watch B.E.T on a regular basis. Apart from MTV; nothing has helped to make people more ignorant and stupider ( is that a word?) than B.E.T.
Not long ago while watching the Boondocks episode Return of King which is eloquently explained in my fellow blogger's blog than I could ever put it...the same point was made in which a...yes post-comma Martin.L. King yells out. "BET is the worst thing I have ever seen!" I was more than happy when I saw that episode.
Sometimes in these blogs I usually lose sense of what I'm raelly supposed to be talking about..... "MYSELF!", but whose ever frowned over someone not yapping about themselve? exactly
